I met John at his wife’s, who organises house concerts. We talked for about two minutes before realizing that we were going to be friends.
He is a fiddler, a luthier, a story teller, a non drinker and a vegetarian, but still a great artist. My pinard-saucisson customary gift was never so unappreciated !
The strange instrument he plays on this video, is some kind of home made dulcimer. He plays english folk music with it, and is very good at it.
He also made an electric version of it, which no one ever recorded or filmed. He says it’s the most beautiful thing i’ll hear. Be sure that my camera will be out of its bag when I see it, and the video will be posted here !
